Our Story

BōLife takes its name from a simple word in our hometown dialect — “Bō”(布), meaning fabric.

But for us, fabric is never just material. It’s the texture of life itself: sun-dried bedsheets swaying on the line, a mother’s careful stitching, neatly folded cloth in our grandmother’s cabinet. These everyday moments carry tenderness and memory — threads that connect generations.

BōLife begins with fabric, but our real mission is to weave stories — between people, between daily rituals, and across time. Each piece we create is made not to be admired from a distance, but to be lived with — a Liberty-lined pouch that goes to work with you, a handwoven cloth bag that gathers the scent and rhythm of your home over time.

Our materials reflect the journey of our lives: on one side, Chinese handwoven cotton (tubu), rooted in the warmth of the land and tradition; on the other, Liberty fabrics from the UK, delicate and rich with vintage aesthetics. This blend is more than a visual style — it’s a conversation between East and West, past and present, and ultimately, an expression of our identity.

At the heart of BōLife is a deep partnership with Chinese home-based artisans — women who balance care for their families with a desire for economic independence. We offer consistent orders, skill training, and a fair, transparent working model that values their craft and time. Many of these women have become community leaders in their own right, turning small acts of making into waves of growth.

This decentralized, craft-driven production gives our supply chain resilience, and infuses each product with regional techniques that are culturally unique and impossible to replicate. Through open design collaboration and clear cost breakdowns, our artisans evolve from being mere laborers to becoming true creative partners.

We believe in a business model where sustainability meets social impact, where every product carries not just a function, but a story.

At BōLife, we don’t just make things. We honor life — one stitch, one thread, one memory at a time.
