Our Story
We’re two sisters from China who came to London to study art. The name BōLife comes from our hometown dialect — “Bō” means cloth — a simple word full of warmth and memories. Moving to a new country was exciting, but it wasn’t easy — we faced real financial pressures, so we decided to do something with our own hands.
While observing everyday life, we noticed that many objects — especially tech accessories — were designed in a very minimal style, losing both playfulness and feminine character. That sparked the inspiration for our creations: to bring colour, texture and personality back into small daily objects.
As our work grew, we realized we couldn’t do everything alone. We reached out to women from our hometown, most of them housewives caring for children, who wanted to earn income while staying at home. By giving them handcraft work, we could fulfill our orders and they could earn money. These small creations have become a bridge, connecting us to the women who help make BōLife possible, and we are truly happy to support the women in our community.
For us, BōLife is about finding beauty in everyday life, creating objects with care, and weaving connections between people, culture, and craft.
