Fabric Story — CATNAP
The CATNAP textile print originates from Liberty’s exclusive Eastern Voyage collection. This special series was created in collaboration with four contemporary Chinese artists whose works reflect deep stories rooted in heritage, memory, and the beauty of everyday life.
 
Masterfully illustrated by artist Joanne Jo, the design centers around one of her most beloved and comforting subjects—cats. Whether stretching, sleeping, wandering, or quietly causing mischief, the charismatic felines in CATNAP are full of personality and warmth, beautifully capturing the familiar charm of cats in all their wonderfully independent moods.
 
Layered behind these playful companions sits a hand-drawn geometric backdrop. This element intentionally celebrates the imperfect beauty of original artwork—embracing soft irregularities that make the final design feel distinctly human, tactile, and beautifully alive.
 
At Bōlife, we were especially drawn to the feeling of gentle joy and companionship this print quietly carries. Cats have a remarkable way of softening everyday life—independent yet comforting, playful yet calm, quietly present in the background.
